Persuasive Writing

Kia ora
This is an activity we did when we were learning how to do Persuasive Writing on the Minotuar here is a sort story of the minotaur. Once there was a really mean king called Minos who used to feed people to his pet monster, the minotaur. A brave guy called Theseus decided he would try to kill the monster. The king's daughter thought Theseus was cool so she gave him some string and a sword to help him. Theseus cut off the monster’s head and saved the people. Something I think I have done well  is do my writing with not much help but next time I think I could improve by using more interesting words.

 Dear King Minos,
I am writing to you about the fate of the nine doomed youths.  I plead for their release on the grounds that:
Firstly it is not a nice way to die because they are not expecting it because they do not know they are going to be chosen.
Secondly the youths that have died could have had a longer life.
Thirdly the maze is a cold and scary place to die.
Finally how would you like to be eaten by the Minotaur in the cold scary maze and not have a future to look forward to?
Like to hear back,
Yours faithfully,
King of Athens
