adverbs
Adverbs
I have been learning how to use adverbs as sentence starters to make my writing more interesting.
1. Slowly he crept towards the dark cave.
2. Gently she unwrapped her birthday present.

Hoop Glider Experiment
Title: Incredible Hoop Glider
Question: Does the size of the hoops effect the flight of the glider.
Thesis: (What we know): When we throw something it will fly through the air for a time and then it will fall to the ground. Gravity acts on the object and pulls it down to the ground.
Hypothesis:The size of the hoops will affect how far the glider flies. The hoop at the back needs to be bigger than the hoop at the front.
Our Experiment
Equipment/Materials
A regular plastic drinking straw
2.5 x 13 cm strips of cardboard
Tape
Scissors
Method: (What we did)
- Tape a piece of cellotape onto the cardboard to make the first loop, with a 1 cm overlap.
- Put tape on the front of the straw and attach the loop. Leave 2 cm from the front of the straw so it glides better
- Get two cardboard strips and tape together, overlapping the joins 1 cm.
- Get tape and put in on the end of the straw and attach the big hoop.
- Fly it!
- Make another glider using three strips for the back and two strips for the front.
Results: What we noticed happening?
The original glider stayed in the air then gravity pulled it down. The second glider with the bigger hoops didn't travel as far as the original one, because it was heavier.
Conclusion: The size of the hoops affect how far the glider flies.

Shambles
Shambles is a story about Mrs Naylor and her dog Shambles. Shambles ran away because he didn't want to hear the rest of his owners words. He jumped into a train and went on an adventure. Then he ended up on a fishing boat. He landed on an Island that was close to Mrs Naylor's new house. Danella found him and they contacted the radio station. Mrs Naylor heard them talking about him. Finally they found their dog.
